We are a six piece band from Co Monaghan. We’re a group of lads who enjoy playing music. We’ve played all over Ireland and in the UK. The majority of the lads in the band have won all Ireland competitions in the past competing throughout the country. We play all sorts of functions, weddings, parties and festivals. We thoroughly enjoy what we do.
We originally formed back in 2010 when pubs and bands were not doing much. Things kicked off straight away as we did a wide range of country, rock , pop and Irish Trad music. We had a unique and different sound to what was out there. This was the key to our success. Our aim was to be different and to bring a new sound to our audience. We wanted to stand out from the crowd not only with our music but with our image too. This is when we decided we needed to find our tour bus. We searched high and low and eventually found our “Betsie” in the Scottish Highlands. She was to be painted yellow . She was then christened “The Fuzzy Van” by all those who seen her.
Unfortunately in 2013 after a brave battle with cancer, we lost our friend and bandmate Gerry Maggs. He was a character and a great singer. He was a massive loss to the band. We were at a cross roads at this stage as Gerry was the life and soul of every gig. Later that same year, as luck would have it Gerry’s son Andrew came back from his travels in Australia. He joined the band towards the end of 2013. We couldn’t have asked for a better man to step up to the role. He too is a memorable character and top class singer and entertainer.
Since then the band has gone from strength to strength.
